At around 9:30 p.m., we will pick you up from your hotel in Uyuni city. Once everyone is ready, we’ll head toward the vast Uyuni Salt Flats, a short 30-minute drive away, where an unforgettable night under the stars awaits.
Upon arrival at the heart of the salt flats, you’ll find yourself surrounded by absolute silence and an endless horizon. This is where our stargazing adventure begins. Thanks to its high altitude, arid climate, and minimal light pollution, the Uyuni Salt Flats offer some of the clearest night skies on the planet. You’ll witness an awe-inspiring view of countless stars, distant planets, the glowing Milky Way stretching across the sky, and even nebulae—all visible to the naked eye.
During the rainy season, the salt flats transform into a giant natural mirror, perfectly reflecting the sky above and creating the surreal sensation of walking among the stars.
After spending time immersed in this breathtaking celestial display, we will begin our journey back to Uyuni. We’ll drop you off at your hotel at approximately 1:00 a.m., leaving you with unforgettable memories of one of the world’s most magical night experiences.
Note:
During the rainy season, from December to March, the Uyuni Salt Flats are often covered with a thin layer of water, creating the famous mirror effect. However, due to the flooding, it is not possible to cross the flats, and for safety reasons, the itinerary is modified during this period.
Additionally, cloudy skies are common in the rainy season, which may limit visibility for stargazing experiences. While the mirror reflection is breathtaking, clear views of the stars are not always guaranteed.
Full moon nights may reduce stargazing visibility due to increased brightness. Check the 2025 moon phases here
Remember:
Temperatures can drop significantly at night, especially during the winter months of June and July. We highly recommend bringing warm clothing, including a scarf, gloves, and a wool hat, to stay comfortable during the tour.
