UYUNI SALT FLAT: EXPLORE IT ON A FULL-DAY TOUR + SUNSET

After breakfast, explore the wonder of the universe, departing from the city of Uyuni at 10:30 am. head towards one of the most emblematic attractions of the region: the train cemetery. See the remains of the locomotives of the 19th and 20th centuries. Take artistic photographs of these German and English locomotives that were used to extract minerals from Cerro Rico de Potosí.

Next, visit Colchani, a town dedicated to the extraction and processing of salt. Learn about the traditional tools used to carry out this process and visit a museum that exhibits the art and history of salt production.

Continue to the Eyes of the Salt Flat. See the small holes on the surface of the salt flat that are the result of the mixing of fresh and salty groundwater, which creates a boiling water effect.

Continue to the dazzling whiteness of the salt flat, about 15 minutes from Colchani. Make a stop to visit the Salt Hotel and admire its fascinating architecture built with blocks of salt.

Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch in the middle of the immense salt flat, surrounded by the dazzling whiteness that characterizes it.

Head to Incahuasi Island. This high island, formed by volcanic rock, offers a spectacular view of the vast white expanse of the salt flat. In addition to its impressive landscapes, it is home to enormous ancient cacti and a variety of fauna, such as vizcachas and hummingbirds.
